Disney Princess Christmas House Video

Video shot with my digital camera (sorry the quality isn't that great) after the Disney Princess Christmas House was completed and out on display in my yard. Found some Disney Princess Dolls @ Big Lots (Tiana & Jasmine were purchased elsewhere). Used a High School Musical Playhouse (less expensive than a barbie house or princess castle), removed the side sections, glued felt in each room for carpet & used scrapbooking paper for the walls in each room. Added a few Disney scrapbooking stickers here and there on the walls so the princesses would have their own posters. Hand decorated the xmas tree. Used different colored folders cut to shape for the window glass (glued into place on the outside with waterproof fabric glue). Hot glued lights & garland into place, then added the dolls. Spray coated all with Polyeurethane sealer to help protect from weather damage, but I bring the house inside if it really rains. My previous video was a combination of stills and Jasmine hadn't been added yet. The music you hear playing in the background is a Disney christmas music soundtrack I put together that plays through the Gemmy light show controller I added to my yard this year.

A Miniature House Becomes a Home With Dollhouse Dolls

A dollhouse is one of the best toys a child can own. It is filled with possibilities that only the imagination can fill. In order for a child to fully experience the magic of a dollhouse, it is necessary to have dollhouse dolls.

A dollhouse family makes a dollhouse complete. Many children will want to have dolls that resemble their own family. In the world we live in today, families are becoming more nontraditional than ever before. The stories don't have to just be inside the house. You can have your dolls go to the grocery store, off to school, or to the post office. That means you will need other dollhouse people to be a cashier, postman, and teacher. You can be as creative as you want with your dollhouse dolls. That is what makes it so much fun. Use your imagination and you and your dolls can go anywhere and do anything!

Miniature dolls, like any doll are fun to dress up. If you have an old Victorian dollhouse with old-fashioned furniture, then it would be a nice idea to dress your dolls in Victorian clothing. If you have a nice old farmhouse, then maybe your dolls should wear overalls and straw hats. Don't forget that you can have pets and animals in your dollhouse too. If you have an old farmhouse, then there are probably cows, chickens, horses, sheep, and pigs too! An old Victorian house would usually have small lap dogs. The right clothes and animals help set the scene in your dollhouse.

A dollhouse is a wonderful toy for children. It opens up the imagination through role-playing and also gives children a sense of accomplishment and pride. In order for a child to role-play with their dollhouse, it is necessary to have dollhouse dolls. These dolls can be purchased or made by hand. They can be a family or individuals. They can have any job in the world. That is the magic that a dollhouse gives to children.

How the Barbie Doll Has Influenced the Modern Woman

Barbie is more than just the hottest fashion icon, coveted collectible, or world famous toy. Barbie is a way a life. She advocates not just women's rights, but the rights of people around the world. She has been everything from a princess and ballerina to a presidential candidate. With a Barbie doll, little girls can live any dream and learn to be strong, powerful women who will one day help shape the world.

Born in 1959, Barbie entered the world at the American International Toy Fair in New York in a fashionable black and white swimsuit and was introduced as a "Teenage Fashion Model." Before then the only dolls for little girls were baby dolls that allowed little girls to play mommy. But with Barbie, they were soon able to dream about being so much more.

In 1961 Ken was introduced to Barbie, soon followed by Midge, Barbie's best friend and Allan, Ken's friend, as well as Barbie's little sister, Skipper. More family members were soon introduced, including the twins Tutti and Todd, Barbie's baby sister and brother. More friends came, followed by horses, cats, dogs, and almost every other pet imaginable. Cars and houses, mansions and motorcycles, not to mention all the clothes and shoes that were soon available for Barbie.

But none of these were given to her by Ken. These weren't Ken's cars, mansions, and jewelry. They were Barbie's, earned by her money from her careers. For little girls this was a glimpse into a world where a woman could have her own life, her own job, and do so without depending on someone else to take care of her. Barbie was able to afford every luxury, clothes from famous designers, and take care of herself all on her own.

Barbie is often seen as a princess or a ballerina, but in her life, she has done so much more. She has been a teacher, a veterinarian, and a dentist. She has joined the army, been an ambassador for peace, a UNICEF diplomat, police officer, firefighter, chef, and a paleontologist. She has not only been a flight attendant, she has also been a pilot! There is no career Barbie - and through her, little girls around the world - could not have if they put their minds to it.

Barbie is not just an American toy. Beloved by children around the world, she has promoted many cultures, be it as a Spanish flamenco dancer, a Viking princess, or a South African woman. Soon each culture will have a Barbie doll to embrace and celebrate their culture, clothing, and women.

But let's not forget the Barbie doll's influence on movies and fashion. Designers vie to dress her, each wanting Barbie to wear their clothing this year. Movies know they've hit it big when Barbie decides to dress as one of their characters. From the Wizard of Oz to Twilight, Barbie has paid homage to them all, even turning her beaming smile to the stories of King Arthur and the plays of Shakespeare.

Barbie has shown little girls around the world that they can be strong, independent women as well as wives and mothers. She has taught them that no job is beyond them, no dream is too out of reach, and that they, too, can be anything they want to be.
