Disney Princess Christmas House Video

Video shot with my digital camera (sorry the quality isn't that great) after the Disney Princess Christmas House was completed and out on display in my yard. Found some Disney Princess Dolls @ Big Lots (Tiana & Jasmine were purchased elsewhere). Used a High School Musical Playhouse (less expensive than a barbie house or princess castle), removed the side sections, glued felt in each room for carpet & used scrapbooking paper for the walls in each room. Added a few Disney scrapbooking stickers here and there on the walls so the princesses would have their own posters. Hand decorated the xmas tree. Used different colored folders cut to shape for the window glass (glued into place on the outside with waterproof fabric glue). Hot glued lights & garland into place, then added the dolls. Spray coated all with Polyeurethane sealer to help protect from weather damage, but I bring the house inside if it really rains. My previous video was a combination of stills and Jasmine hadn't been added yet. The music you hear playing in the background is a Disney christmas music soundtrack I put together that plays through the Gemmy light show controller I added to my yard this year.

If you have an old farmhouse, then there are probably cows, chickens, horses, sheep, and pigs too! An old Victorian house would usually have small lap dogs. The right clothes and animals help set the scene in your dollhouse.

A dollhouse is a wonderful toy for children. It opens up the imagination through role-playing and also gives children a sense of accomplishment and pride. In order for a child to role-play with their dollhouse, it is necessary to have dollhouse dolls. These dolls can be purchased or made by hand. They can be a family or individuals. Barbie was able to afford every luxury, clothes from famous designers, and take care of herself all on her own.

Barbie is often seen as a princess or a ballerina, but in her life, she has done so much more. She has been a teacher, a veterinarian, and a dentist. She has joined the army, been an ambassador for peace, a UNICEF diplomat, police officer, firefighter, chef, and a paleontologist. She has not only been a flight attendant, she has also been a pilot! There is no career Barbie - and through her, little girls around the world - could not have if they put their minds to it.

Barbie is not just an American toy. Beloved by children around the world, she has promoted many cultures, be it as a Spanish flamenco dancer, a Viking princess, or a South African woman. Soon each culture will have a Barbie doll to embrace and celebrate their culture, clothing, and women.

Predicting the Future of Natural Furnitures

Before we can get into our attempt to predict the future of furnitures, it will be important for us to be clear on what exactly we mean by natural furnitures. Some terms can mean different things to different people, in different contexts. When we talk of natural furnitures, we are not looking at them as being natural as against others that are 'unnatural.' Rather, we are looking at them being natural, as looked against others that are synthetic, or artificial, as it were. This is where it turns out that the natural furnitures are those that are made from naturally occurring materials (like wood), which are harvested from their natural existence and directly employed into the making of the said furniture pieces. We are looking at a situation where a tree will be cut, and be directly sawed into the wood that is employed in making various furniture pieces, with the only form of processing that is carried out being the modest treatment that the wood is subjected to, to make it less prone to pathogen attacks. In this context, natural furniture is quite distinct from synthetic furniture. The latter is usually made from non-naturally occurring materials, usually chemicals, which are formulated in various ways to make the material that is subsequently employed in making the furniture items.

So, ultimately, furnitures are those made from naturally occurring materials- like wood, rattan, bamboo and so on.

With that kind of background information, we can now proceed into the prediction of the natural furnitures' future. In doing this, we won't claim special clairvoyance powers. Rather, our prediction of the future will be dependant on our study of current trends in the furniture industry. The present, to those who pay keen attention to it, tends to be a fairly good predictor of the future.

So, how is the future of natural furnitures likely to be?

Well, for starters, natural furnitures are likely to continue being scarcer and scarcer as the years progress. Most of these furnitures are products of forests. But we know that human populations are increasingly decimating the forests. Indeed, in most parts of the world, the only forests that are in existence are those that are under state protection. Where a forest remains unprotected by state actors, we tend to see it having to be decimated, to make way for human 'developments.' The implication here is that a time is surely coming when a natural piece of furniture will be a very hard-to-find thing; the sort that people getting a hold of will feel more tempted to hoard as a keepsake, rather than putting it into practical use.

Natural furnitures are also likely to become expensive over the years. This will be coming as a result of the (previously alluded to) scarcity that we are likely to experience, of the materials used in making these furnitures. In keeping with basic laws of economics, when a product becomes scarce, without the demand for it falling, then its price has to spike. Natural furnitures are not likely to be the exception to this, and this in fact a trend we are already seeing in various parts of the world.

As the authentic materials for making natural furnitures continue to become scarce, we are likely to see the emergence of a trend where more and more daring attempts to 'fake' them will be made. We are already seeing this with regard to the likes of bamboo and rattan furnitures (where we see very real-looking plastic imitations). Don't be too surprised then, several years down the line, when you come across a fellow selling 'replica wooden furniture.'

4 Christmas Gifts Kids Can Make

Kids are amazingly creative. Give them a carboard box and they make a car, a doll house or a robot. Give them a rubber band and they make a gun. Mine found a huge rubber bad used by the florist and made a gun using that rubber band and lego bricks. It shot lego bricks across the room.

Getting kids to make Christmas gifts for their friends and family members is a sure way to keep them happily occupied and hopefully out of mischief. Here are some suggestions.

1. Framed Art

Any child can draw. Give them thick white paper, pencils, crayons, or paints and let them draw a christmas scene. Once the masterpiece is complete, Get the picture framed professionally in an expensive looking frame. It might even pass of as fine art by a master people pretend to understand but no one really does. That might make a fine gift for a snobby relative, don't you think?

On a serious note, a picture drawn by a grandchild would be treasured by the grandparents. Frame the picture and let them give it to their grandpa or grandma for Christmas.

2. Picture Books

You could get the kids to make picture books or activity books as gifts for those they love. When I asked my kids to make a birthday card for grandpa, they made picture books complete with lift-the-flap cut outs.

Take 5 sheets of A4 size paper and fold them in half.

Staple them in the middle to make a booklet.

Give a booklet to each kid.

Let them plan out what goes onto each page before they actually start work.

Provide them with color paper, scissors, glue, pencils, pens and crayons.

Once they get the hang of it, they can make a book for each person on their gift list.

They might even make a book for you.

3. Friendly Stones

Get the kids to gather smooth palm sized stones. Wash and dry them. Get white paper, black paper and colored paper. Get the kids to make eyes and mouth out by cutting and pasting these features on the stones. Let them get creative and add in moustache eyebrows, bow tie or anything they might think of.

Once the glue on these stones are dry, cut a piece of velvet slightly smaller than the stone and stick it underneath each stone for a finishing touch.

4. Bracelets

Do you have a box of cheap beads with holes large enough for a thick, stiff elastic string?
Let the kids have the beads and the elastic.

Teach them to thread the elastic through the beads. When the string of beads is long enough, teach them how to tie a knot with the loose ends to secure the bracelet. Let them have the rest of the beads and string to make christmas gifts for the ladies.

With some creativity, the holidays can be spent productively, making gifts for everyone this Christmas. Who knows? The kids might even surprise you with some invention of their own.
